Progression and Reactivation

Ma famille!!!!

What a week!!!!!! different than i expected but good all the same!!!!!

So last saturday we run into this less active guy who had about 5 callings in France. Monday night we went and taught him and told him 'the Lord needs Him back right now!!!!' So he came to the family home evening tuesday night and then saturday for a genelology activity. REACTIVATION!!!! He still has an issue with sunday, but we'll iron that guy out, the Lord needs Him too bad :)

also,

I'm gonna give you a run down on some of the progression of our investigators!! so if you will remember on the time i described that saturday and i told you that at 8 o'clock we met this super cute Haitian family. WELL THEY CAME TO CHURCH!! and the ward just took them in like champs!!! they are SO gonna be members!! Elder cornish, a 70 came and did zone conference in Guadeloupe. I was in Martinique still we skipped in, and it was AMAZING!! he talked a lot about member missionary work and we're just really trying to up our game! The missionaries gotta just leave a vapor trail and the members will follow!! I've almost worked with every single member in this branch which is something I"m really proud and excited about :) I LOVE MY BRANCH IN MARTINIQUE!!

O also, you've heard me talk about WALTER!! He hasn't drank since we met him! He's 45 and just so loves the Lord and life! Well he finally came to church too! He came with an investigator Marcel who's real old and can't read! We had to organize that one but these guys are both so genuine and excited about the gospel!! Walter is so excited for his baptism and he prayed at church and was so proud of himself. He will make a great member!!

Theres also Lindsay and Patrick :) we taught lindsay the other night and she said she was gonna BEG her dad to come to church but he does this thing called the yoale and couldn't come on sudsy. its like his hobby. its hard because he really loves it but they only do it the sunday. but the Lord will help Him i just know it. They are also just some wonderful amis right now.

so some great progression here in Martinique! something hilarious, we were teaching the haitian family and we talked about how there is a prophet Joseph Smith and today its Thomas s Monson and Roselene is 23 and she says "oh tom cruise!! is it tom cruise!!!?' hahahah so we had to explain it to her but she thought it was tom cruise.

I know this church is true. One of the favorite parts of my day is reading the Book of Mormon and strengthening my testimony of Christ, this church and his gospel. Ive been really strengthening my testimony of prophets this transfer. I know prophets testify of Christ and I feel so priviledged to have heard from elder Cornish this last week.

The perfect saturday!

Family!

I decided this week I'll just describe to you my saturday because it was a good one. and it was a pretty classic missionary day :) so we got up and did some studies! then we picked up this super cute member thalia to go meet this awesome investigator and teach her with us her name is naila, naila told us shes lost when it comes to religions and she wants to know the way of life of mormons so we're like well bring thalia! it was perfect! then we get there and she was sick ;( appt fell through.. happens prolly everyday but it was sad cause it was so perfectly set up! so then we were trying to decide what to do and we had to take thalia home so we try to go see this less active girl over there with her and we meet this super cool guy one of thalias frinds eddy! it was great! gave him a book of mormon and were coming back! then we saw this girl we had met before and called her up and she was like 'yacome teach me!' so we took thalia again! and she was like so excited and wanted to come to church but doesnt have a car (story of my life!) but some great new investigators and we needed some new ones!

Then we decided we didnt want to go all the way home to our house so we bought some lunch and did some language study where we read out loud in french and impersonated what our investigators would say to what we were reading. role plays i guess youd say :) but it was really entertaining!!!!! haha

then we went to Ducos and did some great porte a porte or door to door in an area that a bunch of other missionaries had already been to and got yelled at by a couple confused people. that was sad.

then our mission president asked us to serve our members so we went to this recent convert, well its been like 8 months now but we went to her house and helped her make some carrot bowles out of construction paper for her kids at school. SERVICE!! shared mosiah 2; 17 with her and she loved it!! she said 'oh the spirit told you to come here i needed your help this would have taken forever!!' she says she feels the spirit when she serves. i love soeur hospice :) then we asked her to serve us and the lord by coming teaching with us and she hopped in our car with us and we saw a cuople people and some rendezvous fell through and som didnt and it was good :)

then we come to the dreaded 8 o clock your appt falls through hour and its like WHAT DO WE DO!! so we deicded to go to the bourg in Ducos which is where the catholic church is in every city in martinique and theres like a little square and we saw a cute like family and we went out and talked to them, asked them where the internet shop is and it turns out this cute 26 year old knows a member and shes haitian and the church is like BOOMING in haiti!! and it was just a miracle!!!!

thats about literally everything i did that day.

and it was wonderful!!! so not all days are that AWESOME!! but that day was :) ive just learned that the lord provides!!! hes got a better plan and he knows so well our hearts and our desires and he gives us what we want and need! like i really wanted to see naila with thalia but then we got some new amis that we desperately needed! that was awesome! he knows better than me :)

so it was a good week! i loved it! the church is true! i got my new scritpures and i cant decide how to mark them! any suggestions? ive been praying and pondering about it for a while now!! haaha oh ya and we went to the turners for munch sunday that was way yes and yes momy i love my zone i love martinique! the turners tried to trick me and tell me i was leaving and i almost started crying!! haha it wasnt funny!

this week was good! love you all!

BEST week of my mission so far!!

Family and Friends,

Probably one of the best weeks of my mission :) but not much time to write about it sorry!!

so DUCOS!!! is the best place in the whole world! so much closer to the Church so much less travel time! i love it! so this week we decided  our goals and one of our goals is to work with a member EVERYDAY this transfer! WOAH! tough business! and this week we started off with a bang! we were able to do splits and help sister with their visiting teaching! and teach with a lot of our members it was so sweet! oh my goodness that 8 oclock hour when your appoinment falls through is just like the worst but NO! miracle hour! we found this sweet girl her name is Naila, shes 19, and she was so pumped to meet us! so we went back saturday to teach her, and she was like'im just lost with religions i dont know which one to choose' so cute! so we gave her a book of mormon and told her we'd come back and teach her about it:) shes awesome! cool story about that:

so we're only allowed 2000 kilometers a month and it was right after the baptism of BRYAN saturday and we made it just in time to go home with 1999 kilometers. EXACT OBEDEINCE! but we wanted to go see Naila so we started walking (wasnt very smart) and then we were a little scared! hahah but then   miracle! Nailas mom drives up and says get in your coming to my house! haha so we hop in and she takes us there and had this super awesome lesson :) and Naila drove us back to town after. THAT WAS NICE! FRUITS OF OBEDIENCE!!

also Walter! he told us we changed his life!! woo woo! he stopped drinking and he's been reading the book of mormon! he was all stoked to come to Church but then at the last minute he didnt make it? no matter hes coming next week! haha love that guy!

also our old papi Marcel haha i think he might know who Joseph Smith is now haha but this guy is hilarious, I tell ya hes gonna be the best member just gonna take a while. I wore my glasses a bit this week and sunday he showed up with glasses cleaner for me. i needed it!!

so ya saturday was a baptism of this kid who's been coming to Church a while. hes so cute! it was so aweosme! i love this branch and people so much! we had a meal sunday after Church with the members. they are the best!

so this week was great :) DUCOS is great! i love being a mision i could do this forever! the book of mormon is true!
