I've got a couch!

Hey family!!

So as some of you may have seen on Facebook WE MOVED!!! so weird! so crazy!! We used to live in Vauclin which was about 30 or 40 min from Church, but now  we live in Ducos which is like 5 minutes! maybe 10! from the Church! SO NICE!!!! oh my goodness i know the Lord has so many miracles and things in store for us in Ducos!! We willl continue to see all our investigators in Vauclin (like i said our area is huge) but now we just live so much more closer to EVERYTHING!! its wonderful!!

So for this week! oh ya it was transfer week! transfer number 6 in Martnique! Super grateful for the move because otherwise i think I"d go a little crazy being in one area so long!! but i love Martnique so much! saturday (photo attached) we went to soeur st Catherines birthday party, whe was my temporary companion for a couple days,who got baptized almost a year ago, and it was just so wonderful!! oh man i love these members so much! They are all so excited to do missionary work its wonderful!! seriously, on sunday our branch president, president Occolier, gave a wonderful talk about how were gonna do it! were gonna change and baptize so many people and the work is gonna advance!! it was so wonderful!! i just feel grateful to be a big part of this missionary process happening here in Martinque!!

So some stories from this week, we met this old guy, Neighbors of one of our members who loves to chat. We've been over twice but haven't been able to teach much because he just talks so much and has a hard time reading, but he came to Church! and everyone love him! and he gave the elders a ride home, and they called us after and said he was so excited and kept talking to him and almost got them in a crash! so we'll see where he goes! haha also, sunday night we finally got a chance to meet with this guy Walter who lives right by  us in Ducos now! and he just really wants to change his life and STOP DRINKING so we gave him the book of mormon and told him that would help him. He's preparing to be baptized at the end of march! so excited for him!!

As far as some old investigators go, Rose is really hard to get a hold of and has this sickness that make her go to the hospital a lot and she has to go to France to get operated for her eyes. Poor girl is always sick, its been hard to see her since she got back from France last, but shes still awesome and we try and see her when we can! She gave a book of mormon to one of her neices in France :)

The Jean Francois family! Weren't able to see them this week, so I"ll give you more news next week!

Theres this super cute 15 year old Joani who got baptized about a year ago who we go visit to help her stay strong and active! we had a super sweet crepe family home evening with them and played the game where if you make the coin fall in a pile of flour you have to pick up the coin with your mouth! the member with us sœur martial had to do it. it was hilarious.

And saturday we moved! that was nuts! so weird to not be at my old place that i was there for like 7 months! but super nice as well :) theres some sweet couches that i just study my little heart out on the nights! ooh man. except theres a lot of furniture so it kinda feels like that one cabin we went to where we played a bunch of that card game david and Goliath and rode horses haha.

Anyways so my worlds a little changed now but IM STILL IN MARTINIQUE! thank goodness! and im gonna baptize this transfer! the Lord is preparing people and im doing my best to go find them!

Open the Book of Mormon

family!!!

this week was also a great one! missionary work is so great! alors so first things first irena came to church!! shes so wonderful im attaching a picture! she read a scripture, moroni 8 25 and 26 in the investigator class in russian, tressa! im telling her  you would be best friends! working on getting her infor;ation! anyways and she totally participated in releif society and no one could really understand her hard accent but it was good anyways haha she leaned over to ;e and was like 'im praying to have the spirit to understand' oh she is so wonderful11 so our sunday was aweso;e11

miracle for this week though!! miracles on my mission have all come because of faith, FAITH!! so we go to our families house monday night, not to teach them but just to wish Evelyne a good luck on her test thats the next day. We head over and shes like i cant see you tonight! We're like, no we just wanted to wish you good luck!! and she says im not taking the test I'm not prepared, im too scared!! its like a law test or something (didnt totally understand but i understood it was a test) haha ANYWAYS!! so shes says 'what should i do!!' and i get the idea (from the spirit of course) to say, open the book of mormon randomly and you'll get your answser. WHAT AN ACT OF FAITH!! so shes panicking and stuff and were like just open the book! so we leave and turn the corner and i; like 'soeur riley lets pray so that God will send her to the right page!!' so we pray that she'll get her response and go home. so the next night we call her just to see how it went and she goes 'les soeurs! i opened right up to alma 30:44 which says 'youve had enough signs...." anyways this verse just completely responded to her question (look up the verse itll tell you more) and ah!! it was so cool! so she realized she had had enough signs and that answered her question! so she went and took the test and didn't do too bad she said! in the morning she was a little scared and opened up randomly again to mormon where it talked about victory so she was conforted! YAAAAA! anyways just love giving investigators the opportunity to gain a testimony of the book of Mormon.. the book of mormon is TRUE! my testmiony was strengthened from her experience! anyways she had too mal of hurting to come to church because of her teeth but Alain the dad came so that was good> i love families, and i love helping people become converted to Christ.

Man, this gospel is so true! I'm so grateful for it!  this work is all depenedent on our faith! and boy I've got lots of it! Man these members are all my best friends, and  Im  just a happy girl! haha thanks for all the love and support!

also, cultural note, its carnival here and the poeple are going crazy! they get masks and go around dancing and yelling and playing drums, not really in vauclin though but its a fun time in martnique right now!

Alors! this week!

Started with the best Fhe ever!! we went with the Martial family and this less active youth who loves the piano and her mom and another piano and some other missionaries to the park and the member made donuts!! and Thalia and Nicolas were there! our couple!! and we sang songs and had snacks!! it was the best monday night ever!! and then i showed thalia and nicolas my sisters wedding album and they had questions about eternal marriage! anyways so im expecting a Braden and nina wedding album so i can help teach eternal marriage to my people!! it was wonderful!

also, TRESSA!! so, a while back sis eyre and I had to go to office which is just legalizing ourselves stuff, but anyways so we went to offi and we were late to our meeting. I was sad so i was like 'if im gonna miss this meeting I"m at least gonna meet some cool people!!' so i start of course sharing the gospel with everyone there and met some pretty cool people :) anyways! right before we left we met this girl Irina!!! whos from UKRAINE!!! shes so sweet! but really hard to understand! french is both our second languages!! haha but then she ends up living in the elders area so we gave her number to them. well we had the chance to work in the elders area this week and we went and taught her with them! and shes AMAZING! tressa im gonna get her full name so you can add her on facebook and message her and Skype her and teach her the gospel. anyways she has a baptismal date now and basically thats the story of my life the elders baptise these cool people I find in weird places. hey! im a good finder though! i talk to everyone i guess! i do talk to everyone. i love it hahaha

 

 also we had a  great lesson with Nicolas after Church and he is such a diligent seeker of truth! he only wants to get baptized if its the right thing so hes gonna pray about baptism :) it was a wonderful lesson. the spirit was so strong! we were on the tail end of our fast is why :)

also, Alain, a little boy from the family we teach, Drew a picture of me sœur Riley and his family and the gate (baptism) to eternal life with God and Jésus. it was wonderful i tell ya. they're getting baptized!!!

I love this gospel and the Lord and the book of mormon! its all true! read the book!

this week was wonderful!! some funny things happened!! we went to ST MARTIN  to go be with the sisters there and do some training, so we were supposed to leave tuesday night and come back thursday morning... but we were planning monday night and i was like 'im just gonna go check the tickets to jsut recheck' and all the sudden were like 'uhhh is this tuesday night or tuesday morning??' and ew call all the elders and the travel guy for the mission and turns out it was MORNING!! haha so luckily i loked cuw then we had to leave super early in the morning and we got to be in st martin 2 days!!!! wohoo!! that was crazy! but it was lcuky that i checked!! haha so we were in st martin 2 days and it was wonderful!! those sisters rock!! i had one of the best lesson of my life with one of the sisters there that is just on her 2nd transfer! man is she good at following the spirit!! but anyways st martin is just wonderful! the church is actually a church and theres so many languages! theres spanish dutch and french members!! oh my i would not mind serving in st martin i tell ya!! but anyways it was so fun to be able to help those soeurs and see how awesome the churhc is in st martin!!

oh man but miracle for this week!! so the vauclin aka south of martinique is doing wonderfully! soeur riley is just the best!! so first off just gotta tell you about hector this guy is hilarious! rose's boyfriend whos 79! hahaha anyways so weve taught him a couple times while rose is in france and he says hes catholic and the jehovahs witnesses keep coming by but hes reading and sometimes he remembers joseph smiths nalme!! anyways so we get there and were like 'hector are there  people here?' and hes like'yes come look!!' and points to his tv on!! hahahaah so then were like 'ok can we turn off the tv for the lesson' and he turns it off and hes like ' oh my friends left!!' hahaha this guy is a quick one i tell ya! and then he like tells us he got pulled over by a police man for rolling too slow!! haha so he fought the police man! haha! he was joking about the fighting part but idk about the rolling too slow part! hahaha anyways hes hilarious! Rose will help him get baptized as soon as she gets back! they are so cute!

so then our miracle :) so im on a hunt for families right!! so our mission leader tells us he met this spiritual lady and that we should go see her! he like drove her home or somethign so he expalins that she lives by this sign and im convinceed i know the sign (turns out i was totally wrong) anyhow! so we see this beatuiful house and we got up! a little nervous cuw the house is so big and awesome! and its this family of 5!! mom dad 3 kids!! and they just let us up! i offered to helpher water her 2 plants and she lets me and we play with her dog for a sec and then theyre like all ready to be taught right then!! so we like hada lesson about the gospel with them through the book of mormon and the dad was like 'i cant go to church tomorrow but next sunday!!' so this family is aweosme!!!!! WHAT!! that was inspired! so grateful that that member gave us that contact! so members! tell the missionaries woh to visit and there will be miracles!! haha but the lady he wants us to visit lives down the road.. we'll go find her another day haha but what a miracles!!

and yes then we had a carribean confrence with elder holland and packer!! is was awesome!! my favorite was actually this guys who spoke first in smanish. he talked about how nephi and lehi had such a perfect faith that they KNEW things would come. future blessing were like present knowledge if that makes sense? anyways it was great. a bunch of old mormons on a cruise showed up and watched it in elgish with us haha it was weird to see american mormons again!

well this gospel is true! missions are the best thign ever! i love you all!!
