Miracles of the fast

Hi everyone, 

This week! So yes Im staying in Goyave to finish my training! Which means I'll be here at least 5 more weeks! But anyways, so this week we hit the pavement! Oh follow up real quick, Christine got the chickengoonya and so she couldnt get baptized this saturday but it is coming! I have faith! haha and the chickengoonya is the sickness that everyone gets that just like freezes your joints and your so sore! EVERYONE HAS THE CHICKENGOONYA! its the worst! haha pray that we dont get it!

But this week our branch split, and basseterre started!  We just knew that there wouldn't be as many people at church so we were determined to get SO MANY INVESTIGATORS to church!  We did everything we could saturday to get our investigators there and we were FASTING for our amis to come! But sunday morning we recieve a text from our ami and she couldn't come and we ran out of unity to call all our other amis... no!! but! we were fasting! I knew that miracles come with the fast!!! So, we get to church and I dont know, im sitting there and this beautiful girl walks in!  I dont know why I didnt initiate conversation, but another elder did and i hear him say 'oh ya the sisters in goyave..' and in my head i knew!!! this was our miracle!! So I talk to the girl and I'm  grinning from ear to ear thinking this is our miracle!! This girl went to church like 4 years ago, but hasnt been since. She's been feeling like coming back and today she just decided to.. it was the fast!!!! I know it was! Our fast helped her come back to church! and in the second hour she cried because she felt the spirit so strong and her birthday is the 25th,same as mine!  We have a rendezvous on her birthday and my birthday! what more could i ask for? Sharing the gospel on my birthday with a fellow birthday haha!

Also, my new favorite scritpure, 2cor 5:7. 'for we walk by faith, not by sight' president BonBon said that faith brings miracles, miracles dont bring faith... love it! I love life! Hope you all our praying! This birthday is going to be so fun! last few days as a teen! wahoo!!

Polynesian day birthday and miracle

Ahhhh missions are just the best!!!!!!!!!! I love them so much! We learn so much!!!

So this week, well beginning of this week I was just feeling like I was stuck kinda you know and then we had this AWESOME zone meeting and I just remembered,  that I am doing this because I love Jesus Christ, I really do love Him! He is my Savior and He atoned for me!! That's why I'm a missionary, that's really what this is all about! 

But also, we all must go through trials in our life, even when were on our mission doing a really good things, it can be hard, but trials are here to make us better people, trials are here to bless us! With our trials we can learn so much as we rely on the Lord. I love the video Mountains to Climb with President Eyring. The Lord has promised angels on our left and on our right and he ALWAYS keeps His promises.What a promise! Its true! The Lord gives us trials to Help us become the people that can dwell in the Celestial kingdom with Him. So try and think about what you can learn amidst your trials :)

But also, POLYNESIAN DAY!!!! That was this saturday!! Of course, I looked really cute and dressed up for my birthday party! haha and Sister Dorsan even got everyone to sing for me there, and there were so many people there!! haha, but that doesnt even matter, what matters is the miracle we got from it!!!!!!! AHHHH!! so awesome! and her name is Bridgette!  Prisca, a lovely old lady who we always visit, who is just the best and wants to get everyone to church, she brought 2 friends, one we'd already taught before and Bridgette, the other, we hadn't taught! So she came and she's so cute (shes the one on the end next to me in the photo, Prisca is the one in jeans, the other is Francianne) and shes so sweet. Anyways, we were just talking and then we start with the prayer and then I pass by after when some activites are starting and I see  BRIDGETTE!!!! She was reading her bible!! I"m like 'Bridgette you would love this book called the Book of mormon!' She then comes over to the little missionary booth and I teach her a little about the Book of mormon and tell her she can't have this copy (even though she totally probably could have) but I told her wednseday we would COME BY and give her one, and now we have an appointment with her tonight!!! AH IM SO PUMPED!! Activities! Members! thats the way to work! I love it!

And miracles, they just come every day. I know it! The Lord just showers us with miracles, I love it! This week I've just really learned to rely on the Spirit. Rely on the Spirit! Do you rely on the Spirit? Everyday He can and will lead us if we seek His help.

Im so grateful for a mission and all the things we get to learn here to be a better missionary, and just for life! Life is good!

Polynesian day of missionary work

il fait CHAUD!!!! its hot!!!!hahaha its summer here and man that middle of the day area is hot!! but its good still!!

So this Saturday the 14th there's a polynesian day coming up and its 7 to 16h and WERE INVITING EVERYONE!! In order to get people to come sometimes I tell them its my birthday party because my birthday is this month haha ahh! I'll be 20! crazy! but the whole island is going and all the members and missionaries have been working really hard to get everything ready and to get a lot of amis there!  That is super exciting everyone is pumped for that and pictures to come! What a great way to do missionary work... through activities!

This week was great though, we've got Christine, she is a rock. Her 3rd time at church and she is just so into it and bore her testimony about how the Book of Mormon has made her a better person. Shes so awesome! She reminds me of my mamma, she'll just grab my arm and give me a little squeeze and I love her a lot. We went over to her house after church and I was just nervous we were going too fast so I asked her if she had any questions and she said, yes, and I was like oh no here it comes! but then it was just ' what clothes do I wear to my baptism' haha phew! We then told her we get clothes for you!  Shes also been helping so much with the polynesian day! Shes like already a member! The Lord definitely prepares people for you. Christine is the best. 

So then we met this lady at the store and she is just the best. Shes another kind of older single lady, Juliette, but she too loves the Book of mormon! and we had a lesson with her and the Richmonds, our senior couple, and she just kept looking at me and saying ' she has a lot of faith' haha, I love having faith!!

But anyways its all Sister Dorsan, she is the best companion ever! She did so much missionary work before so she knows  what shes doing!

I love missionary work! Its going so good here in Goyave! Its like my second little family here! Church is so good and I love helping bring the gospel into people lives!

"If you want to punch Satan in the face, PREACH THE GOSPEL!

 Wow didn't realize the shack would be such a hit!! haha that is hilarious, but sometimes coming home im just like 'I got no where to even walk!!!" ok I'll answer the shack questions. The kitchen is outside and theres a little room with the fridge and one cupboard for food, and a couch.  We have these fold up desks where we study and put them away at night, sometimes we cook on them, but not much cupboard space! And of course we have a bunk bed, and I'm on top. I havesome cute pictures and not much space!! haha but anyways thats shake life! At least we have the air conditioning!

So this week! oh but first, french is coming great! I study grammar and  because I know how to say pretty much everything that I need, but now I'm making sure I'm saying it right. I read the book of mormon in french so that helps! I love french!

This week! CHRISTINE!! I pray every night that Satan wont touch her! oh quote for you as well, 'If you want to punch satan in the face, PREACH THE GOSPEL! ' I punch satan in the face every day!! haha but anyways christine is preparing for the 21st, and she is just the best investigator ever! She is even encouraging us to go find other sheep!  She likes to speak a little english with us, haha so she said, "when I read the book of mormon and then shell say ' i am filled!' haha i love her! and she was at church just testifying of her baptism coming up! She is the best!

And then, miracles come when you fast!! I am sure of it!!! So we were fasting and we were at that point where I was just like oh my what are we doing why are we over here! but then! Sister Dorsan looks up and theres this guy in the apartments and he said  'come here!' He comes down and he's American!! and hes so cool! and so we teach him saturday night and tried to get him to come to church, but his friend was using his car, no matter! We gave him the book of mormon yesterday and he said hes gonna read it because hes just here on vacation! Anyways watch the mormon message about a bishop in london who loves the book of mormon and thats him! haha I'm gonna make a mormon message about him when i get off my mission because hes getting baptized! He said he'd prepare for the 28th!

Anyways so mission/shack life is good, haha I love it! and I love you all, thanks for the support!
